GSSJC History & Museum

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, founded in 1922 as Houston Girl Scouts, has grown from a small council in the city of Houston to serving 26 counties in southeast Texas. Discover more about our 100+ year history in these pages and by visiting the Goodykoontz Museum of Girl Scout History, located in the Program Place for Girls at 3000 Southwest Freeway in Houston.

The Goodykoontz Museum is open whenever the Girl Scout Shop is open, except during events and day camps held at the Program Place for Girls.

Visitors can now use QR Codes to listen to audio descriptions of exhibits in the museum. Visit this site often for history and museum updates.
