Volunteer Roles and Structure 

Community Engagement has roles at the Community and Council-wide levels. The Community has four roles and two teams, all supported by volunteers at the Council-wide level.

Recruitment Team Lead (RTL)

Implements year-round council recruitment strategies, develops local plans of implementation identifies, and develops local partnerships in order to recruit girls and volunteers into the movement from diverse backgrounds.  Recruitment Playbook training is required for appointment and once completed the volunteer will be assigned the role, LOOKER, and full access to the recruitment online community 

Recruitment Team 

Recruits girls and adults to participate in Girl Scouts through year-round recruitment strategies. 

This role is appointed by the RTL. who can use the Recruitment Playbook handout to train their team. All members of the recruitment team are encouraged to attend Recruitment Playbook training. 


Placement Liaison (PL)

Organizes and places girls into troops, maintains the waitlist, and participates in troop opportunity development.                                                    Placement Liaison training is required for appointment and once completed the volunteer will be assigned the role, LOOKER, and full access to the recruitment online community.

Waitlist IRG Specialist

Develops plans to engage IRGs and girls on the waitlist and informs girls and parents of Community, Region, and Council-wide opportunities.            Waitlist IRG training is strongly encouraged. This specialist should connect with the Placement Specialist Staff through their CEM to receive the Girls Waiting Placement Workbook and to be assigned as the leader for the Community IRG and holding troops.

School Liaison Team Lead

Recruits and appoints school liaisons to create strategies for school cultivation. School Liaison Team Lead training is strongly encouraged to attend training (). The school fact sheet is available in documents (forms) to collect relevant school information.

School Liaison Team Members

Serves as a liaison for local school(s) for school cultivation and coordination of key recruitment events. Individual school liaisons are appointed by the school liaison team lead who can use the school liaison guide to train the team members. School Liaisons are welcome to attend the School Liaison Team Lead training.

Council-Wide Team

The Council-Wide CE team supports Community volunteers through resources, training, and monthly chit chats among Community volunteers on Zoom. See announcements on the front page of this online community for the schedule and zoom link to Chit Chats.

Community Engagement Coordinator(s)

Partners with the Community Engagement Director to support recruitment and placement throughout Girl Scouts of San Jacinto. 

Placement Liaison Coordinator(s)

Supports the Community placement liaison and serves on the C-W Community Engagement Team. Can be a single volunteer or team.

Recruitment Coordinators

Appoints and supports the Community recruitment coordinators and serves on the C-W Community Engagement Team. Can be a single volunteer or a team.
