Highest Awards: Gold Award

SENIORS AMBASSADORS

Gold Award Girl Scouts are the dreamers and the doers who take “make the world a better place” to the next level. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the mark of the truly remarkable—proof that not only can she make a difference but that she already has Seniors and Ambassadors who earn the Gold Award tackle issues that are dear to them and drive lasting change in their communities and beyond. Think of the Gold Award as a key that can open doors to scholarships, preferred admission tracks for college and amazing career opportunities.

Counselor in Training

SENIORS AMBASSADORS

This award is earned by experienced campers by combining their love for the outdoors with their leadership skills and goals.


Volunteer in Training 

SENIORS AMBASSADORS

Volunteer in Training (VIT) is for Seniors and Ambassadors who want to mentor a Daisy, Brownie, Junior or Cadette troop/group outside of the camp experience. The VIT award is earned after girls have completed ninth grade, find a mentor who is currently an adult volunteer for a troop/group, complete a council VIT course and complete a VIT project spanning a 3-6 month period. My Promise, My Faith

ALL LEVELS

Girls can learn what their faith and Girl Scouting have in common through earning faith-based awards including the My Promise, My Faith pin and religious recognition. You can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin once a year, every year you are in Girl Scouts. Check The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for the five steps to earn this pin!

Journey Summit Award

ALL LEVELS

The Journey Summit Award Pin is earned by girls who have completed three National Leadership Journeys at their grade level. This award is based on your honor as you are not required to complete a form or receive council approval.

Safety Award

 ALL LEVELS

Safety Awards are earned by following a five-step process for being safe, tailored for each grade level. Find your grade level's steps in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting.

Community Service Bar

CADETTES, SENIORS & AMBASSADORS

This award is earned by making a difference in the community and practicing the values of the Girl Scout Law. It serves as a way for girls to get involved with a cause they care about, learn new skills, share their talents and help others. To earn the award, choose an organization that the council approves (F-496). Then, complete at least 20 hours of service.  Learn more in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting

Service to Girl Scouting Bar

CADETTESSENIORS & AMBASSADORS

Service to Girl Scouting bars are earned by volunteering at least 20 hours for the Girl Scouts. For example, you might volunteer your time for a special event for younger girls or serve on a girl planning board. This award is based on your honor as you are not required to complete a form or receive council approval.

Torch Award

CADETTES, SENIORS & AMBASSADORS

This award is given to a Girl Scout who is a leader in her community. To earn the Torch Award, a Girl Scout must complete one Leadership Journey and serve a full term in a leadership position at her school, place of worship, library, community center or other organization that is important to her. 

You must submit the Torch Award Application when you’ve completed these steps for approval before you purchase your pin.


 
 
 

Cookie Entrepreneur Family Pin

ALL LEVELS

All girls who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the annual Cookie Entrepreneur Family Pin, which they earn by developing essential business skills.

Medal of Honor

ALL LEVELS

This award is given to a girl who has shown the presence of mind and true Girl Scout spirit saving life or attempting to save life without risk to the candidate’s own life.

To be considered for this award, please fill out the Lifesaving Award Application. 

Bronze Cross

ALL LEVELS

This award is given to a girl who has shown extraordinary heroism saving life or attempting to save life with risk to the candidate’s own life.

Presidents Volunteer Service Award

ALL LEVELS

The President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted, permanent residents of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime. GSSJC is a certifier of this award but as such, the service hours must benefit our organization. For more information, please view the guidelines and application.

If you are completing your community service or Take Action project as a Girl Scout, whether for a Girl Scout award or not, please share it on this form!

Who should complete this form for troop/group, Community, or Region projects?

The volunteer leading the project should complete this form at the troop/group, Community, and Region levels. In many (but not all) cases, this will be a troop/group, Community, or Region-level volunteer. A good question to ask yourself is, was I the contact person for this project? If so, please fill out the form! If not, please reach out to the project’s contact person to make sure they are planning to fill out the form!

Is this form required?

No, this form is not required to complete a community service or Take Action project, or to earn a related Girl Scout award. However, we highly recommend that you complete this form so we can learn more about how our girls and volunteers are making the world a better place as Girl Scouts! Plus, all projects submitted through this form will have the opportunity to be highlighted in a future Golden Link!
