Activities at GSSJC Camps

Engaging in outdoor activities while at Girl Scout camp is a time-honored tradition, providing new experiences for girls as well as helping them progress in their comfort with the outdoors. There are two ways to take advantage of these opportunities - through Council-led (scheduled) events and by acquiring your troops' own instructor and booking an activity that works for your schedule. Overnight or Day-only reservations at camp are encouraged, but not required, when registering for any camp activity.

No matter which path you choose - remember that it is the responsibility of the Troop Leadership to read the Safety Activity Checkpoints for each activity prior to committing it to the schedule and prepare the girls and adults ahead of time with appropriate clothing, being weather aware, and verifying certification of the instructor.

Council-led Activities

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto volunteer teams and their staff partners create a schedule of offerings based on camp and volunteer availability.

Volunteer-led Activities

Have a connection to an instructor in your troop or community? You can book a standalone time for your group for a significantly reduced fee! 

Complete the F-449 Program Registration Form and submit along with the activity certification for the instructor to customerservice@sjgs.org. 

Our team in Customer Service will find the closest time and location for your activity and send you a payment link.

Adventure Park
Climb high in trees on our awesome adventure course and possibly end your climb with a ride down our zip line! For Cadettes and up. Participants must weigh at least 70lbs and no more than 250lbs. This is due to the ability to maneuver safely throughout the course. A waiver is required to be signed prior to this activity. Find and register for an Adventure Park date here.

Equitation (Horse Programs)
Equitation is GSSJC's umbrella term for horse programs. Whether you're just starting and want to meet the horses in Love, Hug and Groom, try a pony ride in Short Stirrups, get a little more experience in Tack and Trails or try Vaulting - there is a horse program that fits your age and comfort level.

Small Watercraft
Find the waterfront activity that best fits your troop's paddling journey! Whether you're trying Corcl boats, Canoeing, Kayaking or Stand-up Paddleboarding, there's a paddle program that fits your experience. Find and register for a Small Craft activity here.

Archery
Get ready to aim and shoot at a target on our archery ranges. This fun activity teaches you how to load your bow, aim, and hopefully hit a bullseye. Find and register for Archery here.

Rifle
Rifle program at GSSJC begins with Intro to Rifle. Girls learn range safety and commands, safe handling of rifles, loading and shooting from basic positions. All rifle programs are led by Range Safety Officers and/or USA Shooting Instructors. Find and register for an Intro to Rifle activity here.

Swimming
Dive in and make a splash! Whether you're kicking off a campout with a refreshing swim or celebrating the end of an adventure, pool time is the perfect way to enjoy the water and bond with your troop. This activity is open to Daisies and up, ensuring all girls have an opportunity to build confidence in the water. Before jumping in, each swimmer will complete a brief swim test to determine where they can safely swim, helping everyone feel comfortable and secure. Find and register for a Swimming activity here.
