Daisy Leader Resources
Don’t we all wish we could look at the world through a Daisy Girl Scout’s eyes?

As Girl Scouts, we live by the motto "be prepared" - and that includes when the unexpected happens. The safety and well-being of our members and their families are of paramount importance as we all navigate through the COVID-19 situation together. While we ask that all members continue to follow the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and their local health officials and cease in-person meetings, we want to deliver the opportunity for Girl Scouting to continue at home. Wondering how to talk to your kids about coronavirus? Read this Raising Awesome Girls article from GSUSA for tips. Service    It’s in our Girl Scout DNA to help in a time of crisis. For those that are healthy and want to help others, there are multiple ways to help those in need during the novel coronavirus outbreak. But how can we do so responsibly? In some cases, you don’t even need to step outside your home to help in a meaningful way. Consider spreading an act of kindness, like painting kindness stones and leaving them around your neighborhood.

Girl Scout Activities  Girl Scouts isn’t closed! Consider using a video from GSSJC or GSUSA to help you complete a badge with your Girl Scout. You can pull the full curriculum from the Volunteer Toolkit, but here is a video to get you started: Daisy Money Counts Leaf

Stay Healthy    It’s important to stay healthy both physically and mentally. Stress and worry can seem downright contagious and your girl could likely use a sense of calm in her life right about now. GSUSA’s Raising Awesome Girls has an informative page about how to talk to your kids about coronavirus.

Consider donating extra items you have at home to a shelter. For an example of what you might donate, visit a website like the Star of Hope and then a parent can drop them off for you.

Stay Healthy    It’s important to stay healthy both physically and mentally. Maintaining consistency is important – both you and your girl will benefit from staying connected to her troop! The relationship with fellow troop members and families can be a source of strength for everyone at this time. So as you oversee activities at home, partnering with other girls and adults can bring new, fun ideas into the mix and take the pressure off as families juggle new responsibilities at home.
