Our Camps

We are so excited about summer 2023, and we hope you are too! This summer we’ll be offering a mix of camp sessions all summer long – from day camp to family camp to overnight (resident) camp, and even summer troop camping!  

  • Our updated Health and Safety Guidelines will help ensure all of our campers and staff have a fun and safe summer! 

  • Want to spend a few days at camp with your family? Check out family camping in air-conditioned cabins at Camp Pryor!  

  • Ready for overnight camp at our incredible Misty Meadows Ranch, Casa Mare or Camp Arnold? The horses, sailboats and lake are filled with fun, and are all waiting for you! 

  • Need a place to spend the day and hoping to make new friends and explore lots of fun things? Join us for full-day, week-long Day Camp sessions at Program Place for Girls.

Daisies

Daisy Day

Discover  Camp Agnes Arnold during this day-only program. Create your own craft, canoe in Shadow Lake and explore science and nature. This is the perfect introductory program for Daisies to plan future camp adventures with an adult. One adult registration must accompany every two girls for this program. Check-in at 9:30 a.m., program ends at 3:00 p.m.

During this session each camper will get to write their own story as they choose which activities they participate in as an individual during thier time at camp. Choose traditional camp activities like archery, riflery, and hiking or maybe you want to see what living life on the ranch is like and you choose to learn about planting seeds and foraging for food in the wilderness. SPURS Training

Do you enjoy working with horses and want to share that with other girls? Spend a week at camp learning the theories and hands-on skills needed to join the SPURS (Super People Using Riding Skills) special interest group at MMR while also enjoying classic camp activities such as hiking, archery, swimming and more. Girls will receive their level one SPURS scarf and be ready to work with the weekend riding program during the school year. No previous riding experience necessary. This session is not part of the progressive riding program.

 

Vaulting Level 1

Are you interested in acrobatics AND horses?  Why not put them together?  Spend the week learning basic vaulting moves on the ground, on the barrels, and on horseback. When you're not in the barn you'll swim in the pool and hang around camp. Campers in this session will vault on a barrel and horse everyday and ground school lessons. No previous vaulting or riding experience needed, but participants must be physically able to jump, bend, and move into various acrobatic positions. This session is not part of the progressive riding program.

 

Vaulting Level 2

Have you done Vaulting at one of our previous sessions and love it? Spend a week this summer advancing your skills! This session includes vaulting on a barrel and horse everyday and ground school lessons. Participants must be physically able to jump, bend, and move into various acrobatic positions. In this program our senior and ambassador girls will learn all the ins and outs of running our Adventure Park and will get valuable leadership experience both on and off the course that they can use for years to come! NOTE: Girls must weigh a minimum of 70 lbs and a maximum of 250 lbs,  and be able to reach a height of 70 inches while standing flat-footed to participate in this session.

When you're not designing your perfect costume you'll spend the week living your ideal week at camp with your counselors and fellow campers. Wrangler in Training I

Are you interested in working at MMR one day as a counselor or riding staff member, but you're not sure what it would be like? If so, this session is for you! This is the first level of the Wrangler in Training program, part of GSSJC’s CIT program. You will learn skills to lead and instruct campers both in the barn and around camp. Campers who successfully complete the session will earn the CIT Award. To participate in this program campers must complete an application and short phone interview with the camp director prior to the start of the summer. Campers must have previous experience with horses to participate in this session, preferably as a SPURS or STARS member or by attending at least two weeklong horseback riding sessions at Misty Meadows. Campers will go to the barn during this session and help instruct riding lessons and ground school lessons for younger campers. Camp Arnold

Located in Conroe as part of the Treelake Complex, Camp Arnold offers a wide variety of camp activities including an adventure course, archery, canoeing, nature hikes, arts and crafts, swimming, and outdoor skills.  Whether you love paddling and swimming at the lake, want to explore the great outdoors from the top of a zip line, or are a seasoned camper looking for a new challenge, Arnold has the perfect session for you! 

Sleeping accommodations include open-air cabins and platform tents.

Casa Mare

Located in Seabrook and nestled on Galveston Bay, Casa Mare offers girls a robust sailing instruction program.  Our sailing program emphasizes skill progression, leadership, and confidence building.  If you have dreamed about learning to sail, or you are an experienced Mariner looking to hone their skills, Casa Mare has a session for you!

Sleeping accommodations are climate-controlled dormitories.

Misty Meadows Ranch

Located in Conroe as part of the Treelake Complex, Misty Meadows Ranch offers a quality horseback riding and ranch program in a summer camp setting.  We welcome girls of all skill levels and expertise, and every session includes a chance to spend time with the horses.    Our equestrian program emphasizes progression and expanding knowledge of horses and horse care.

Summer Troop Camp

Take a break with your family over a holiday weekend at beautiful Camp Pryor! Your family will enjoy activities such as archery, canoeing, swimming, hiking, crafts, and more!

Bring your own easy-to-make meals for breakfast and lunch, and we'll take care of dinner and s'mores!  Family Camp is offered Friday through Sunday over Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends. 

Sleeping accommodations are climate-controlled cabins.



Camp Pryor


Day Camp

Join us for full-day, staff-led day camp at the Katy Mills Mall GSSJC Resource Center.  Work on badges, sing new songs, and make new friends.  Camp sessions will focus on the arts, the outdoors, STEAM, and crafts.

Snacks are provided daily, but a sack lunch and drink are required.  Camp is from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
